Teaching an “Old Dog” New Tricks

A leading adhesive tape converter needs to keep ahead of the pack by continuing to invest in new process equipment – which Preston Technical has certainly been doing recently to ensure they can maintain their track record of innovation and cost competitiveness.

Whatever the attraction of newer technology Preston Technical have always maintained that you should use the right manufacturing equipment to produce the most optimal converted tape part that any customer may need. Finding ways to repurpose equipment rather than buying new at every point which benefits everybody – and the environmental footprint of doing so – and Preston Technical have found a way to redesign perhaps the oldest, and some printers will say, the most attractive press ever brought to market.

In coming up with an ingenious way to produce a specific complex part for a customer, Preston Technical focused their attention on regenerating their oldest manufacturing process – whose origin dates back to the 1930s – namely the Heidelberg Printing Press – which was used for printing back in those days!
